You have several options while you are away: Have a friend or family member come and get your food. You do not need to tell the farm about this arrangement. Simply have them come at the regular vegetable distribution time Saturday, 9am-2pm and have them sign-in for you. You can donate your food to someone in need. Just call or email the farm and let us know which week you’d like to do this. If you plan to be back by the Sunday after the Saturday pick-up, you can call ahead (717 633-5792) and let us know. We will bag your food with your name on it and leave it in the reach-in cooler at the pickup point in the CSA Barn. The fee for late- pick-up is $5. This is a self-serve process. Leave $5 (cash or check) in the payment jar near the reach-in. What if I miss the 9am -2pm time for Saturday’s vegetable Distribution? You still have a chance to get your vegetables, fruit etc. Call the farm (ideally by 7pm on Saturday) We will bag your food with your name on it and leave it in the reach-in cooler in the pick-up. The fee for late-pick-up is $5.. This is a self–serve process. Leave $5. in the payment jar near the reach-in. How do I split my share with my partner? We suggest that you communicate with them about alternating who splits the share. When you come to the farm, you can pick up the vegetable for a whole share. We provide a table with extra bags, knife, cutting board etc. to help you split your share. Place your partners’ food in their bag, and mark their name on the outside of the bag. Place you partner’s bag in our reach-in cooler. The first few weeks the amount of vegetable is small. You may want to consider alternating weeks for pick-up. Dogs at the Farm You may bring your dog to the farm at pick-up time. Please have them on a leash at all times and bring a bag to pick up their waste. Please be sensitive to other members with your dog and keep it at a distance unless asked. Children We love to see children enjoy themselves as they explore the farm. Please consider the following guidelines, when bringing your children. For children under 14 yrs. We ask that one parent or guardian supervises their children 100% of the time for safety reasons. What do I do with extra produce or kinds I don’t prefer? We offer a Surplus/Exchange table in the CSA Barn for members to leave extra or unwanted produce for other members to choose.
